Stuart Wells CPA (B.Bus)

Stuart joined MTCA in August 2023 in the role of Senior Accountant.  He is a CPA and has extensive large corporate tax knowledge.  A finance professional with significant experience across a number of industries, countries and cultures, Stuart brings a vast wealth of commercial knowledge to our team.   

 

As a Graduate Accountant, Stuart worked in Public Accounting in Perth for two years before undertaking a travelling working experience in London.  This move ultimately resulted in twenty three years experience in the accounting profession, sixteen of these years were working for multi-national companies listed on the Australian and London stock exchanges, which included nine years with the world's largest mining company, BHP Billiton.

Thirteen of those years spent in natural resources industry working across Gold, Nickel, Alumina, Metallurgical Coal, Oil & Gas.  He has worked in all stages of the mine development lifecycle, exploration, mine development and operations.  Over these years, Stuart was predominantly based in Southest Asia.

In addition to his professional career in Accounting and Finance, Stuart was actively involved as an investor and worked with two partners in sucessfully fitting out and starting up Six Degrees Bar and Accomodation in Albany, WA between 2015 and 2019.  

​

Stuart has called Busselton his home for the past 13 years while he mostly continued to work abroad.  A change of lifestyle for his family and a new direction for his career, he has now returned to Public Accounting.  As a member of the Busselton Golf Club, we hear that Stuart has an enviable handicap and enjoys his time on the course with his mates.  

Stuart works in the office 8:30am to 5pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
