A Bit About Mark
Mark returned to Busselton in 2006, and from the outset proved to his peers to have a high level of technical tax skills and commercial management knowledge. Accordingly Mark rapidly became a Partner in 2008 of an Accounting firm. In the July of 2013, Mark, along with his wife Alison made the move to open their own accounting firm, Mark Trovato Chartered Accountants.
Mark has over 25 years of Tax and Business Services experience. Once finalising his Commerce Degree at University of Western Australia, he then worked for PKF Perth in the Tax and Business Services division. He applied his skills across a broad range of clientele in many industries, including agriculture, manufacturing, investment, property and retail. He also worked heavily in the area of superannuation, which developed his enthusiasm for his specialty in Self-Managed Superannuation Funds.
Mark spent some time away from Public Accounting for a few years in the role of Group Financial Controller for Lycopodium (an ASX listed mining engineering services group) where he developed invaluable commercial skills. Such skills have been very useful in enabling Mark to apply them across the clientele and business of Mark Trovato Chartered Accountants.
Mark is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Registered Tax Agent, and specialises in Superannuation, Business Valuations, Estate Planning, Tax Structures and Restructuring.
Outside office hours, Mark was the Treasurer for the St Joseph School Board for 3 years was a Board Member for St Mary Mackillop Catholic College between 2015 and 2020 and currently from 2022. He also volunteered his time as a specialised sprint training coach for Busselton Surf Lifesaving Club between 2006 and 2019. During this time Mark was a Surf Lifesaving Bronze Medallion holder and was actively involved in water safety for major sporting events such as IronmanWA, Busselton Jetty Swim and 70.3. Apart from committee roles, Mark has and continues to volunteer countless hours as a basketball coach for YCW.
In addition to all these accomplishments, in July 2022 Mark was awarded a Fellowship from Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand. An honour which the team at Mark Trovato Chartered Accountants are very proud of.
